Community Guidelines

Iscicle is a place for international students and allies to collaborate, converse, and learn from one another. In order to ensure that this is a safe space, please follow the following guidelines:

Bring your best self

Bring your best self to Iscicle, and expect others to bring their best selves too! Iscicle is a welcoming and collaborative space for you to learn, share, and grow. Please do not engage in behavior that is inappropriate or harmful (see below if you need more info on what you shouldn't be doing), and expect that others will follow these rules as well. If you believe someone is in violation of our guidelines, please let us know at [email protected], or by reporting them via the iOS or Android mobile app.

What can I post about?

Anything related to your experience as an international student! We’d love to see you share questions, opportunities, resources, events, discussions, personal experiences, advice, and more! This is a safe space where you can be vulnerable and share candidly. We'll still continue to moderate your posts, however, so please refrain from posting or commenting anything that is deleterious to our community.

What can't I post about?

No spam, advertisements, or solicitations of any kind.

Don't double post in multiple spaces; instead, choose the most relevant space to post in.

This is a safe and educational space. Posts, comments or behavior that is harmful to the community will not be tolerated. Harmful actions include, but are not limited to, the promotion of violence, hate speech, exploitation of minors, clear misinformation, self-harm, drugs, illicit activity, trolling or bullying.

What are spaces?

Spaces are categories for you to organize your posts and to view posts you’re interested in. They’re pretty self-explanatory, but here’s a simple breakdown:

Advice: A space to post any form of advice you have based on things you’ve experienced, learned, or heard.

Meme: Being an international student is not always the most fun and shiny experience. This is a space for comedic relief cries in international student

Rant: Life is hard - leave your rants here

Storytime: International students have the BEST stories!!

Question: Questions about anything, honestly. Have a thought that ends with a “?” - post it here.

Wins: It’s not all a downhill journey!! Just got a job offer? Accepted an internship? Cooked yourself an actual meal? Share your wins with the community so we an celebrate with you.
